One of the most common questions I receive from people who are about to begin their journey with Kambo is:
“What are the benefits of Kambo and how will I feel afterwards?”
I like to answer by quoting my teacher Alan, who during my training used to say:
“Kambo has made me the best version of myself.”
But what does that really mean? And how do you integrate that change into your everyday life?
Today I want to guide you into a more subtle aspect of working with Kambo: becoming the best version of yourself through integration.
The integration gap
In this journey of healing and self-discovery, we are confronted with our darkest parts: old emotions, traumas, fears, relationships begin to surface. It can be painful. It requires courage, resilience, determination, and a deep love for yourself.
Sometimes it feels like stepping out of a boxing match with Mike Tyson: punches coming from everywhere, your body exhausted, your mind confused… and emotions bouncing around like ping pong balls in your head, hitting you when you least expect it. It’s intense. In the beginning, you just feel grateful to have made it through — even if every part of you feels bruised.
Your body is tired, your mind is foggy, and there’s a sense of disbelief as you start to see clearly how much your system has been holding onto for years. And yet, at the same time, something begins to shift. Layers start to fall away. Slowly, you reconnect with your intuition, with your body.
There are “aha” moments — small realizations that tell you you’re finding your way back. Subtle layers of perception become louder, clearer… and then, inevitably, the container closes. You return to your daily life, and you have to keep walking on your own two feet.
A common mistake is to believe that any single experience is the root of our liberation or happiness. There is a tendency to give our power away, placing all our trust in an external tool or practice, as if it were our salvation. But in doing so, we weaken both the practice and our own transformation.
When we return, we can feel lost — unable to fully explain what happened or why the insights seem to fade so quickly. This is where many people fall into a loop: continuously seeking healing environments without seeing real change in their lives. What should be a tool becomes a crutch — something that can turn from transformative into destructive.
Integration means taking your power back. It means training your mind, building self-trust, and cultivating the discipline to take small, consistent actions every day — actions that, over time, create strong and unshakable foundations.
“Integration” is a word we hear often, but it’s used lightly. Integration is not just about recovering from an intense experience — it’s about deeply embodying what you’ve lived, bringing its lessons, emotions, and transformations into your everyday life.
Whether it’s a Kambo session, psychotherapy, energy work, or an entheogenic journey, integration is the bridge between the sacred space of the experience and the reality of daily life.
How to recognize if you’re on the right path
Some signs that show you are truly integrating your experience:
- Your thoughts become clearer
- You are able to sit in silence without needing distractions
- You feel drawn to simplicity
- Being mindful of what you consume becomes natural, not a struggle
- You let go of old patterns and relationships without guilt
- You feel called by nature
- Your voice begins to free itself
- Your language becomes more harmonious, softer, more intentional
- Your confidence becomes less performative and more authentic
- You feel a return to yourself, to your own power
- You begin to trust yourself more deeply
- You recognize your authenticity, without the need to adapt or please
- You no longer feel that inner division — you begin to feel aligned, whole
People keep searching for big breakthrough experiences, forgetting that real change happens when the patterns of everyday life begin to shift.
That’s where integration takes form. That’s where the work becomes real.
And Kambo, in this process, is not the solution — but it is a powerful tool that can open the door, if you are willing to do the work that comes after.
So, are you ready to step into this journey with Kambo and become the best version of yourself?
